In March 2025, the design office of Transconverter LLC has started to fully localize the production of the PSN100 U2 converter.

The PSN100 U2 converter is designed for electric locomotives operating on railways with a voltage of 3000V DC of the contact network. Power units and control system boards manufactured by Siemens AG (Germany) were used in such a converter until 2022.

This converter has three output inverters.

The first output three-phase inverter (AIN1) is designed to supply stabilized voltage and frequency to electric heaters, an electric driving motor of a centrifugal fan, a control circuit supply cabinet, etc. with a total output power of 30kVA.

The second output inverter (AIN2) supplies adjustable voltage and frequency to the electric driving motor of the axial fan with an output power of 30kVA.

The third output inverter (AIN3) is designed to supply the electric driving motor of the brake compressor with an output power of 40kVA.

The total output power of the PSN100 U2 converter is 100kVA. Structurally, the specified converter is made in the form of a cabinet, which is installed in the body of an EP2K passenger electric locomotive.
