In January 2016, the design office of Transconverter started the development of KS3000 U2 grid system analyzer. The development goal is studying contact system voltage during the operation of rolling stock with transformers installed.

KS3000 U2 analyzer is designed for retrieving, processing and recording information on voltage in the DC contact system with a nominal value of 3000 V.
KS3000 U2 analyzer will have operational range of measured DC voltage from 500 to 8000 V.

The basic parameters of device under development:
– measurement rate: 20 kHz;
– period of data recording to removable storage: 1,0 ms;
– maximum duration of recording to removable storage: not less than 4660 h;
– maximum storage capacity: not less than 32 Gb;
– operational range of supply variation: from 36 to 160 V DC.

Data recording in KS3000 U2 analyzer will be performed to plug-in memory card of MicroSD type. KS3000 U2 analyzer will have internal clock with power from lithium-type battery, which will be synchronized with real time.

KS3000 U2 analyzer will be installed within PSN235 U2 converter of 2ES4K or 3ES4K electric locomotive, and PSN110 U1 converter of EP2D electric locomotive.
