On April 19, 2015 10 years passed since Transconverter establishment.

Transconverter is a joint venture of Transmashholding CJSC and Siemens AG.

Transconverter main areas of activity are development, prototyping and mass production of converters for electric locomotives, electrical trains and passenger carriages.

Today Transconverter is:

– an exclusive recipient of Siemens AG technologies, engineering solutions and special-purpose articles in the territory of Russia

– a Siemens AG representative regarding maintenance of railway converter equipment components

– a high-skilled construction office

– in-house unique high-technology test equipment

– efficient quality management system based on the principles of international recognized standard ISO9001:2008. It’s confirmed by the corresponding certificate

Due to all these aspects together Transconverter develops high-quality and reliable equipment by means of effective attraction of engineering and technological capabilities of Russian and foreign enterprises.

During its lifetime Transconverter delivered:

– more than 350 auxiliary transformers PSN235 U2 mounted on electric freight locomotives of 2ES4К series

– more than 250 auxiliary transformers PSN100 U2 and more than 70 power sources IPBS26 380/110ZU U2 mounted on electric passenger locomotives of EP2K series

– more than 150 auxiliary transformers EVB51 U1 mounted on passenger carriages RIC

– more than 70 auxiliary transformers PSN80 U1 and 40 frequency converters PC36 U1 mounted on electrical trains of ED4 series

– 3 stands to test asynchronous traction engines and 2 unique power sources for deep-water bathyscaphes
